Welsh Festival of the Horse: 4 & 5 September 2010
Margam Park, South Wales
This family orientated event will offer an opportunity to show-case the wide variety of equestrian activities and skills in Wales to a broader audience. There will be demonstrations, displays, stalls, amazing stunt riding and we will also be including our canine friends who will also be showing off their skills. The last Festival in 2006 was hugely popular with the public and 2010 will offer another great opportunity to promote equestrian activities.
The organizers would be interested to hear from anyone who would like to participate, organise or sponsor an event or activity Information on all the activities will be included in a booklet and publicity initiatives, which will be widely distributed later this year.

Birth of a Valley Project (Click here for further details)
The history of Pontardawe and the Swansea Valley is to be recorded and preserved thanks to an award of £49,500 from the Heritage Lottery Fund. The ‘Birth of a Valley’ project will enable the community to bring together the diverse heritage of their area, highlighting in particular the significant role of the Swansea Canal.
“The Swansea Canal Society has been researching and recording the development of the Pontardawe area and the canal for nearly 30 years, so we are extremely pleased that our partner, the Arena has been awarded this Heritage Lottery Fund grant. Now we can give back to local people their heritage and their roots and help them to understand why their ancestors came to this valley and created the communities of Pontardawe, Ynysmeudwy, Trebanos, Alltwen and the surrounding villages." - Clive Reed, Secretary of the Swansea Canal Society
The Riverside Community Space Centre is situated on the Glantawe Riverside Park between the river Tawe and the Swansea Canal and just a short walk from the centre of Pontardawe and the village of Ynysmeudwy. Click here for location map
